This recipe can be baked or cooked on the stovetop.  This recipe makes enough for the whole family and enough for leftover the next day! The pictures you see are what this recipe looks like if you make it on the stove. For supper that evening I also made Crispy Breaded Asparagus.

Baking Directions:

Shred cabbage. Spread half in buttered, shallow 3 quart baking dish. Stir onion and rice with a little oil in frying pan. Cook, stirring constantly, until onion soft and rice lightly browned. Spoon over cabbage in dish. Brown ground beef and pork in same frying pan. Place on top of rice and onions in baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with remaining cabbage. Heat spaghetti sauce and water and pour over cabbage. Cover. Bake in 400 degree oven for 55 minutes or until rice and cabbage tender. Bake uncovered for 5 minutes.

Stovetop Directions:

In large pan, cook onion and rice with a little oil. Stir constantly until lightly browned. Add ground beef and pork and brown. Layer cabbage on top of meat and rice. Pour spaghetti sauce and water over cabbage. Simmer on low heat without stirring for about an hour or until cabbage is tender.
