Crimson Crisp: “Sweet-Tart Favorite”
This beautiful pure crimson red apple was developed in cooperation between the University of New Jersey, Purdue University and The University of Illinois in the early 1970s and released in 2005. True to its name this apple has crisp, light yellow flesh, which is firm, dense and juicy and has a very good sweet-tart balance. Crimson Crisp’s flavors are simple and refreshing: cane sugar and distinct hints of melon, orange, and spice. The apple stores well in the refrigerator, lasting for several weeks.
