Fruit Pruning & Tree Care Workshop

It’s pruning time!  Join Thomas, our apple tree expert, for a workshop on how to care for your fruit trees. Thomas has over 10 years of experience growing and caring for the apple trees at Tuttles.  He oversees the care of over 17,000 apple trees, which consists of 30 different varieties.  Proper pruning is important as it will lead to an overall improved quality of your fruit trees and help minimize diseases.  He will teach you the do’s and don’ts of pruning. A demonstration will be held in the orchard where Thomas, will demonstrate the best techniques for home fruit tree pruning.  He will also discuss general tree care, which includes a discussion on spraying and thinning. Bring your questions about your own home fruit trees.  This is a casual workshop, so questions are encouraged.

Date:  March 25, 2023

Time:  9am to 10am

Location:  Tuttle Orchards – Meet in the greenhouse and then you will head to the orchard.  Dress for the weather.  We will be outside even if it’s cold or raining.

Cost:  $10 per person (We must have a minimum of 10 participants for this class may be canceled.)
