Tuttle’s offers a great selection of summer Indiana produce, which is great for canning! Come join us to learn everything you need to know to successfully can your fruits and vegetables. Each class will last approximately 1 hour.
Class Options:
Intro to Canning Class (this class will cover the basics that you need to know to begin canning. This will focus on supplies you need, where to get recipes, ideas about what items are good to start with if you want to can, what type of produce to look for, the difference between water bath and pressure cooker canning, etc.)
Berries: Jellies, Jams, Preserves, and Freezing (this class will focus on how to make jam, preserves, or jelly from berries such as strawberries, blueberries, blackberries. We will also cover the difference between jam, preserves, jelly.) We will talk about different regular and sugar free pectin options and options for deciding to freeze or can your preserves. We will also cover the basics of how to freeze whole strawberries, blueberries, and other berries for later.
Make Your Own Pickles & Relish (Refrigerator Pickles, Canning Pickles, and Making Relish: this class will cover how to make your own refrigerator pickles, or more advances pickles. We we will also give ideas for making and canning relish.
How to can Lodi Applesauce (this class will talk about how to make your own applesauce from Lodi Apples along with how to can the applesauce or freeze it. Lodi are a summer apple that are great for making your own applesauce as they are softer and cook well.)
Additional canning and freezing classes may be added throughout the summer!

This is a non-refundable event unless there are extenuating circumstances due to COVID. If you are unable to attend due to COVID, then please contact Christie before the event at 317-326-2278 and press 5 or christie@tuttleorchards.com.
Location:
Park in the gravel parking lot on the west side of the road. Please walk towards the pergola and the class will be in the building to your right. Please look for the signs directing you to the classroom.
Mask Policy:
At this time, masks will not be required for this event which follows the current governmental regulations.

Classes that do not meet the minimum requirements of 10 registered participants may be cancelled.
