I wanted to come up with a more creative name for this dish. Mashed Potanips… Mashed Turnatoes?! I’ll have to think about it some more but for now I’ll just tell it like it is- mashed potatoes with a turnip twist.
Boil some water and place the chunks of turnips and potatoes in a pan over the stove. Cook until tender. Drain the potatoes and turnips, return them to the saucepan and mash until creamy. Add the butter and milk and beat until fluffy. Stir in the crumbled bacon and season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
