Bounty Rice with Cabbage


1/2 - 1 pound ground beef or park
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green or banana peppers
4 cups fresh chopped tomatoes
4 cups shredded cabbage
3 cups cooked rice
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

A delicious and different way to use cabbage for the main course.
  1. In a skillet combine: 1/2-1 pound ground beef or pork, 1 cup chopped onion, 1 cup chopped green or banana peppers
  2. Saute these in a skillet until meat is browned and veggies are soft. Stir in the following items: 4 cups canned or fresh tomatoes, chopped, 4 cups shredded cabbage, 3 cups cooked rice, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/2 teaspoon basil, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cover and cook until cabbage is tender/crisp. About 10-15 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup sour cream. Sprinkle 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese on top and cover until cheese is melted.
