Suncrisp: “Sweet-Tart Favorite”
The Suncrisp was developed at Rutgers University in New Jersey and released in 1994. Suncrisp apples are medium in size, with a yellow background overlaid with and orange-red blush. The juicy flesh resists browning when cut open. The flavor is fairly intense, sweet with a little tartness. Some have noted pineapple and fruit punch flavors. The flavors sweetens with age.
