Greenhouse Classes

Want to help your students learn about how things grow in a hands on environment?

We’re hosting a time for an educational tour for homeschool students and their families. The Greenhouse classes are primarily geared for students ages 5-13 years old  (younger and other siblings may purchase tickets as well, but educational focus will be as indicated per class).

  • Time in the greenhouse seeing how plants grow.
  • Hands on lesson about greenhouse and plant related topics (see below for exact topic for each class)
  • Snack (donuts and cider).
  • Talk about how things grow in a hands on environment.
  • Class lasts approximately one hour.

Limited to first 24 participants to register per time slot.

Dates:  can be found on calendar page….click here to buy tickets.  Please purchase tickets in advance as space is limited.  It is unlikely there will be spaces available the day of the event.

Cost: $8/child (ages 2 to 13) and $4/Spectator (ages 14 and up).  Children 0-23 months are free (assuming that they don’t want to do a craft, snack, planting…and are OK with sitting on mommy’s lap).  Any children ages 2 years to 13 years who attend must have ticket.

Class Descriptions:

Additional dates may be added to the online booking calendar as these fill.

Flower Dissection Class

Flower Dissection Class

Tuttle Orchards is offering a fun learning opportunity for homeschool students and their parents to dissect plants.  This experience lasts approximately one hour and is designed for children in grades 6th through 12th grade.  Younger kids can attend with the purchase of a ticket, but it is strongly encouraged to only bring kids in junior high and high school.

Experience includes:

  • Observation and discussion about flowers.
  • Talk about how things grow in a hands on environment.
  • Opportunity to dissect several flowers
  • Time in the greenhouse seeing how plants are grown.
  • Snack from the cafe (donuts and cider).
  • Tour lasts approximately one hour.


Child ages 12-18 – Cost is $8.00/each. Includes the lesson, greenhouse tour, hands on planting activity, and snack from the café.

Adults (Spectators) – Cost is $4.00/each. Includes a fresh apple donut and cider.  They may accompany the child participant during the class and activities, but they will not be given their own materials.

Kids 1 & under – Free if they don’t plan to participate in the snack.  Some choose to purchase tickets for their 18-23 months kids who want the snack.  Parents can choose based on their child’s needs.

At this time, masks will not be required for this event which follows the current governmental regulations.
